Metcon, Inc. Hires New V.P. for Construction Management

Mike Burriss joined Metcon, Inc. as their Vice President of Construction Management on July 15, 2013. He will lead their efforts in joint ventures and new construction management at risk projects throughout North and South Carolina. He will continue to focus on K-12 and Higher Education projects, as he has done for the past 24 years in the Raleigh NC area.

 

Mike, most recently, was Vice President for DH Griffin Construction. During that five year period, Griffin grew into one of the top 10 General Contractors in the Triangle area. Prior to that, he was Assistant Superintendent for Facilities for Wake County Public Schools during the high growth period of 1997-2008. He is Registered Educational Facility Planner, NCSU Certified Facility Manager and holds general contractor licensing in NC, SC, and TN. He has managed and worked on more than 85 new school and more than 250 renovation projects. 

 

Mike Burriss has been a part of the Triangle building community since 1983. He is Chair of the Construction Professional Network Institute of NC and on the Board of Directors of Garner YMCA. He has been past Board of Director and member of Construction Management Association of America, CMAA and Council of Educational Facility Planners International, CEFPI.
