Associated Builders & Contractors of the Carolinas recognized “the best of the best” general contractors and specialty contractors at the 2012 Excellence in Construction Award Banquet held November 15 at Founders Hall in Uptown Charlotte.

ABC is the nation's leading commercial and industrial construction trade association. ABC Excellence in Construction Awards competitions encourage and recognize companies that exemplify the high quality of merit shop workmanship in their projects while upholding a dedication to building projects on time and under budget.

Aaron Thomas, owner of Metcon, Inc. and Sam Isham Vice President of Construction attended the award ceremony and proudly accepted the Merit award. The award was given in the SCHOOLS category for projects (10-25) million in size.  This is Metcon’s first ABC Excellence in construction award.

Aaron Thomas stated that he would like to personally thank the entire team including FSU administration and staff, Mr. Rich Cox, SFL+a and their entire team of engineers and consultants, and last but certainly not least the Metcon staff and subcontracting team.  "This was truly a team effort we can all be proud of."
