Mike Burriss Elected President of NC Construction Professional Network


Pinehurst, NC (April 5, 2014) – Mike Burriss, Vice President of Construction Management at Metcon, Inc. has been elected as President of Construction Professional Network of North Carolina for 2014-2015. 


CPN of North Carolina, Inc. is a statewide organization of business and professional leaders who are involved with design, construction and related services. CPN was created through the efforts of a few dedicated individuals engaged in construction law, construction management, design, construction, project development and finance and dispute resolution.


Mike Burriss is a 30 year veteran of public and private general contracting in the state. He has held several leadership positions for CPN of NC, with prior service on its Board of Directors and as Chair of the Construction Professional Network Institute, the non-profit, service side of the organization. 


The professional organization celebrated its fifteen year anniversary in Pinehurst, NC. In addition to the election of officers, the group’s guests included Dr. Patricia Mitchell, CEcD Assistant Secretary for Rural Development Divisions in the NC Department of Commerce speaking on the goals of the Commerce Department and CPN Institute’s grant for building assessments and development opportunities in rural North Carolina.


Mr. Burriss, a Mechanical Engineering graduate of NC State University, most recently lead the Metcon’s growth of construction management services into Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC. Primarily focused on education and manufacturing projects, he directs the pre-construction, planning and bid strategies for Metcon.
