Kings Mountain – Pilot Creek WWTP Expansion & Upgrade

Location – Kings Mountain, NC

Phase 1:   Pump Station Upgrades for Town of Grover
Upgrading two pump stations by replacing and installing new wet wells, valve vaults, submersible pumps , back up pumps. The new capacity is 2MGD for each pump station location. Both wet wells are epoxy coated. Both pumps have SCADA systems. These pump stations are operated by Town of Grover and are discharged into the City of Kings Mountain system.

Phase 2: WWTP Upgrades
Upgrading the existing City of Kings Mountain WWTP. The upgrades include decommissioning the existing basin and installing new 6MGD SBR Basin, 10 MGD Headworks , new blower and electrical building, mag meter valves, surge tanks, bulk chemical feed and chlorination and dechlorination contacts. The upgrades also include installing a new Belt Press along with New Lab/Office Building.

Phase 3: Force Main and New Pump Stations
This phase includes the decommissioning of the existing Grover WWTP and installing a new 2MGD Pump station and that location. This phase also includes installing 2.3 miles of 8” force main from the new pump station to the City of Kings Mountain pump station. The Grover WWTP was failing and needed a new system , which through inter-local government agreement was decided to discharge into the City of Kings Mountain system.

Phase 4: Force Main and Gravity Lines
This phase includes installing 9 miles of 20” Force Main  along with 4 miles of Gravity Sewer of various sizes. This phase also includes installing 2 new 2MGD Pump stations. This system will be discharging into the Upgraded WWTP for City of Kings Mountain. The Gravity Sewer to help future developments of the area and allow growth and development. This phase includes boring the force main under I-85, US-74 and also NS Railroad.
