This year in honor of our 20 th Anniversary, Metcon established our Community and Education Foundation.
Our Foundation serves in many ways, its prime goal is to create pathways for success for the people of NC and beyond. Our Metcon family has been serving our community in so many ways over the last 20 years. Our foundation goals align with our corporate mission – building sustainable communities, connecting our tribe with opportunities, serving our communities, and providing education and resources for a career in the construction industry. As such, our philosophy is that wherever we build, we have a responsibility to do so as sustainably as possible while involving the local community in a meaningful way.

Some of the things our foundation has already been involved in:
HURRICANE RELIEF EFFORTS
Metcon “Packed the Truck” for Robeson County full of much needed supplies and water for 11 shelters after Hurricane Florence.

BIKES FOR KIDS PROJECT
Metcon built and donated 20 bikes to children in Robeson County that were displaced during Hurricane Florence.

CONNECTING YOUTH TO JOBS/TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES IN CONSTRUCTION
Increased opportunities for construction industry exposure and awareness for both youth and the individuals who influence their career decision.

ADVANCE EQUITY AND DIVERSITY IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Continues to provide leadership and resources to grow the next generation of minority contractors, help prime contractors attract new workers to the industry, increase diversity of skilled workers, and lead to more positive jobsite culture.

MAKE CAREER CONNECTIONS ON OUR PROJECTS – Workforce Development
Creating partnerships with trades and vendors to match individuals in the community with job opportunities, on the job training and apprenticeships to grow the next generation of minority contractors, help prime contractors attract new workers and formal mentor programs to create success.

RE-EMERGE PROGRAM
Working with those individuals re-entering society after an incarceration, providing tools and financial resources for them to learn a trade and secure employment.

From our Lumbee Heritage in rural North Carolina, we are passionate about making a difference at home and the many communities where we live and work. Fulfilling this commitment is about more than money and donations, it’s about giving of our time and talents to create meaningful change. Whether we are supporting the interests of our clients, volunteering at the local school, or strapping-on our boots to help our neighbors during Hurricane Florence, we embrace the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
