Metcon, Inc. has received formal industrialized construction portal recognition through the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Navy following an extensive competitive evaluation processconducted over approximately eight months under the Department of Defense’s Building Resilience through Industrialized Construction (BR-IC) initiative.
The process evaluated participating contractors’ technical capabilities, industrialized construction solutions, project delivery strategies, and ability to support the delivery of permanent military barracks and dormitories.
Following its participation in the competitive process, Metcon received portal recognition through the three military services.
Portaled status establishes a pathway through which the government may invite eligible contractors to submit project-specific proposals for future industrialized construction opportunities without repeating the original competitive evaluation process. Each potential project remains subject to applicable government requirements, evaluation, and award decisions.
Founded in 2000, Metcon brings more than 25 years of industrialized construction experience, including more than 100 load-bearing cold-formed steel (CFS) panelized buildings.
Metcon’s capabilities include offsite fabrication, prefabricated building systems, integrated project delivery, and construction of multistory institutional housing.
Metcon is a 100% American Indian-owned economic enterprise headquartered in Pembroke, North Carolina.
