The new on-campus student housing project is a mixed-use complex featuring student housing as well as retail amenities. The developer led project consists of 3 separate buildings, Chidley, George, and Lawson, for a total of 375,000 sf, 323 units, 1276 total beds, with common and retail spaces. Two existing buildings were demolished as part of the project. This project is one of the first to be delivered as a P3, design-build contract for the UNC System.
One of three new projects, the demolition of the historical Chidley Residence Hall was bittersweet as it embarks on new legacy for the campus in student housing. At over 164,719 sf, 386 beds, this project will help ease the demand for on campus student housing.
