Metcon’s commitment to their Goal One Safety Program continues to create self -safety awareness and promote the safety of all workers on the jobsite. “There are countless ways one can get seriously injured in our line of work. Having the support of upper management and leadership of our Safety Team working with our on-site project operations staff to insure everyone goes home safely is non-negotiable”, says Aaron Thomas, President and CEO.
Creating a culture of safety is critical in today’s construction industry and is sometimes on the back burner for the many clients in which we serve. It becomes a “given” on a daily basis and can sometimes be taken for granted by those who have no idea the purpose driven intent of a Building Star Program, backed by NC OSHA, means for their specific project. Metcon has been in the Building Star Program for over 5 years and prides itself for partnering with OSHA to create a proactive and cohesive approach for safety management on their projects. Currently, we are 1 of 27 Contractors awarded this status in the state of NC.
The result is being recognized by our peers and the safety industry for multiple awards this year and years past for safety performance and zero loss time accidents. Congratulations to Tonya Warren, Director of Safety and Risk Management and Rodney Nichols, Safety Coordinator as well as the entire Metcon Team, our subcontractors and vendors, for Goal One Safety.
Recognition is awesome, however – everyone going home safe to their family is the best award of all.
